Austria: Three-quarters of Muslims Experience Islamophobia, According to a Recent Study

A study by the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA) reveals that Austria is the European country where Muslims experience the most discrimination, with 74% of Muslims surveyed reporting being victims of racist incidents.

This figure is closely followed by Germany (71%), while Spain (31%) and Sweden (23%) record much lower rates.

Experts explain this rise in Islamophobia by government policies and the rise of far-right movements. Recent events, particularly related to the ongoing genocide in Gaza, have also exacerbated Islamophobic acts.

This is why it is essential that national authorities take the necessary measures to ensure the safety of Muslim populations and respect for their rights.
