Belgian Cup: Bruges hooligans commit a rampage in the Molenbeek and Jette districts

On May 4, 2025, on the sidelines of the Belgian Cup final between Club Brugge and RSC Anderlecht, Bruges hooligans committed acts of violence in Molenbeek-Saint-Jean and Jette, deliberately targeting businesses and people of the Muslim faith.

Shops were attacked, shop windows smashed, street furniture damaged and fireworks set off in the middle of the crowd, creating a climate of high tension. A shopkeeper was assaulted and a total of 80 people were treated by the emergency services.

This extreme right-wing violence is the result of the racist and Islamophobic policies that continue to gain ground in Belgium and throughout Europe.
