Hate letters, stained with a liquid reminiscent of blood, were sent this week to several mosques in the Netherlands: Rotterdam, Eindhoven, Arnhem, Tilburg and The Hague.
These letters contain insults, caricatures of the Prophet Mohammed, and extreme statements such as “Islam must die” or “Islam is worse than Nazism”.
Target locations include: Ayasofya, Mevlana, Kocatepe, Essalam, Mescidi-Aqsa, Fatih, Al Fourqan and Türkiyem.
Deeply shocked, worshippers are calling for greater security, including reinforced protective devices. Police say they are aware of the situation. Mosques are working with local authorities to put in place increased security measures.
