Islamophobic Remarks: Former British Soldier Sentenced to One Year in Prison

Daffron Williams, a 41-year-old former British soldier, has been sentenced to two years in prison, including one year of immediate imprisonment, for his Islamophobic posts on social media.

Following the Southport riots last summer, the Briton, who suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder due to his participation in conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan, shared various posts on his social networks, including messages referring to a “civil war” and calling to “save the future of our children”.

The court deemed the facts serious enough to impose a prison sentence.
